Washington D.C. – Top Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (AOC) and Democrat House caucus leader Hakeem Jefferies have announced a plan to start a U.S. House of Representatives sub-committee next time they regain power in response to the Republican announced House committee to investigate the Democrat-led Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol.
“We need to investigate the investigators of our investigators,” announced Hakeem Jefferies in front of a cheering crowd of his House Democrat caucus. “Obviously anyone investigating a noble investigation like the January 6th committee is on the side of the insurrectionist traitors. Therefore they’re traitors. Since we’re investigating traitors, we’re patriots. It’s science. And we’re going to do it when we regain power in 2024!”
After cheers from the caucus, a visiting Vice President Harris commented that it’s “just as simple as a Venn diagram. The House is over there, the highway’s over here, I’m over there, and the circles just intersect right here. So let’s do it.”
Former congresswoman Liz Cheney, a member of the original January 6th committee released a statement saying that she would, “be excited to be a part of the grand new project of such a committee.”
“Of course,” she added, “I’ll have to get elected again, and we’ll also need to wait for the Committee to Investigate the Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol to actually get going in order to find enough dirt on them to start our committee, but that’ll be easy. If they even mention Drumpf [sic], we’ll have our case.”
In response to these comments, however, former U.S. president Donald Trump countered, posting on his own social media platform saying, “That’s ok. In 2026 we’ll just investigate your new committee again #WINNING.”
