Lander, WY – Following an astoundingly quick dam construction, local Wyoming Catholic College has just opened a new multipurpose recreational reservoir area for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and more, Lake Scholastica’s.
School engineers constructed the now massive reservoir adjacent to some of the college’s dorms last week, but the facility finally opened for use by both students and the general public today.
“We’re excited to benefit the local community with a great recreational area,” commented a school official named Jake Rusanka. “Lake Scholastica’s will be open for all of Lander to enjoy and makes great use of former poorly used space. Students have something to be excited about to, as there are currently few options for them to swim, practice their kayak rolls, or do other water-related activities during much of their school year.”
The poorly used space is the parking lot of St. Scholastica’s and St. Benedict’s dorms, as well as part of one of the rooms in that building.
